Michael is a seasoned computer aided design (CAD) professional + structural designer. Growing up on a cotton and soybean farm in Laurinburg, NC, Michael was first introduced to CAD in a drafting class he took his senior year of high school and immediately knew it was what he wanted to do. Recognizing that he had a unique ability to visualize a project in 3D and beyond the drafted pages, he studied at Sandhills Community College and East Carolina University before beginning his career as an entry-level engineer at Crestline Modular Homes in Laurinburg.
With almost 20 years of home-design knowledge and experience under his belt, Michael moved to Raleigh in 2001 where he worked for a number of local design and architectural firms. He designed everything from apartment buildings to churches to residences and was able to pay close attention to structural detailing based on his keen understanding of construction engineering. Michael has made it his goal to stay ahead of housing trends and continues to produce innovative designs that win awards year after year.
